Menoton parks and gardens - Pian Park - Olive Tree Garden

Public gardens and relaxing breaks

Let the children run free, listen to the birds singing, look at the flowers and trees... Menton has several gardens that will delight children. The Parc du Pian, a vast terraced olive grove facing the sea, is a wonderful place to explore. In spring, sheep graze there in the shade of centuries-old trees. The Jardins Biovès, meanwhile, offer an 800-meter walk among fountains, sculptures, and palm trees: a lively place all year round, from the Fête du Citron© to Christmas. And for a contemplative break, head to the Jardin Élisée Reclus and its hundred-year-old ficus tree or the Square des États-Unis to discover plants from around the world. So many gentle, shared moments of respite.

Koaland - Caterpillar - Things to do in Menton with the family - Vacances Bleues

Koaland: a small park for little ones

At Koaland, toddlers find a world of their own. Carousels, mini-golf, trampolines, caterpillar rides, inflatable games: plenty to enjoy a great day out with your youngest children. Parents can relax in the shade while their children, cheeks flushed with excitement, burn off their energy. Bloubi, the Vacances Bleues mascot, gives the outing his seal of approval: koalas understand each other well!

The Oceanographic Museum of Monaco

Perched on the cliffside, suspended above the sea, the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco showcases the richness of the marine world. More than 6,000 specimens swim in around a hundred tanks, from tiny seahorses to majestic sharks.

There are plenty of surprises in store for children: hands-on workshops with crabs and starfish, virtual reality, and an escape game mission aboard the Princess Alice II. There's an adventure for every age group. It's an outing that will fill you with wonder, teach you new things, and give you a wonderful day out with your family around Menton.

Animal garden - parrot - Vacances Bleues

Monaco's Animal Garden

Perched on the southern flank of the Rock, facing the sea, this small zoo is home to more than 250 animals on one hectare of terraced grounds. Parrots, reptiles, rabbits, pigs, turtles, and even Pollux the hippopotamus: your children will love it.

Created in 1954 by Prince Rainier III, this animal garden stands out for its respect for life. None of the animals were purchased: they were donated, rescued from circuses, or taken in. The park strives to provide a suitable habitat for each animal, even if it means transferring some residents to more spacious facilities.

Balzi Rossi - que faire à Menton en famille
An adventure through the ages

The prehistoric caves of Balzi Rossi

Just a few minutes from the French-Italian border, in the hamlet of Grimaldi, the Balzi Rossi caves (or Grimaldi caves) immerse families in the mysteries of prehistory. It was here, on the shores of the Mediterranean, that Homo erectus, Neanderthals, and Homo sapiens left their mark thousands of years ago.

Fifteen natural cavities dot the site, such as the Children's Cave and the Prince's Cave, the largest of them all. The first Paleolithic tomb was discovered here in 1872, along with fascinating objects such as statuettes, tools, and cave paintings.

Italian ice cream... in Italy

Imagine: you cross the border (just a stone's throw away), stroll to Ventimiglia, and settle down on a terrace in a peaceful little square to enjoy some real Italian ice cream. Stracciatella, pistachio, or lemon... A simple, joyful family break that will undoubtedly become one of your precious holiday memories.
